Biography

LISA Germano was born in a family of Italian origin with Mishawaka, in the Indiana. His/her father being Leader and his mother professor of Musical theory, with his brothers and sisters, it is very early initiated with the music and studies the Piano. It very quickly shows gifts for this instrument but it will stop playing about it towards the 10 years age, choosing later to turn rather to the Violon.

It settles with Bloomington in 1979. She seeks to integrate a group of country folk in the capacity as violonist. During five years it will work as waitress. In 1984, it is located by John Mellencamp, thus beginning its musical career. During eight years it will accompany by many artists, of which Simple Minds.

In 1992, it leaves its first album solo, One The Way Down From The Moon Palace on its own label, Major Bill, then Happiness in 1994, on Capitol Records, where it tells a disastrous marriage which it lived between the age of 20 and 25 years. But it is especially with the British label 4AD that it will be pointed out. It leaves, in 1994, Geek the Girl , with Malcolm Burn, much darker than the first two albums: its song is done éthéré and emotional very. It destroyed its romantic dreams there, on a sardonic tone, using elements resulting from the Italian folklore.

It returns in 2006 on Young God Records with In The Maybe World .
