LIBOR Pešek

LIBOR Pešek is a Czech Leader , born with Prague the June 22nd 1933

Biography

With the musical Academy of Prague, he studies the direction, the Piano, the Violoncelle and the Trombone, with for professors Václav Smetáček and Karel Ančerl in particular. He works then with the operas of Plzeň and Prague, then founds in 1958 the Harmony of room of Prague which he directs until 1964. Principal chief of the Slovak Philharmonic orchestra between 1981 and 1982, then chief invited to the Czech Philharmonic orchestra of 1982 to 1990. Musical director of the royal Philharmonic orchestra of Liverpool of 1987 to 1998, it also directs other orchestras as a guest.

Pešek is especially known for its interpretations of the Czech music, in particular Josef Suk and Vitezslav Novák.
