LAT

Lat , of its true name Mohammad Nor Khalid (born in 1951 with Kota Baru) is an author Malayan of Cartoon. Celebrity in her country since the publication in years 1970 of Kampung Servant boy , it is one of the precursors of the Autobiographie as a cartoon.

Biographies

As of its thirteen years, Mohammad Nor Khalid publishes under the Lat pseudonym of the illustrations in the Malayan reviews Majallah Filem and Movie News . Its first cartoon published are Tiga Sekawan ( the Three Friends ) then Keluarga If Mamant , in Berita Minggu , as from 1968.

Having learned English at 11 years at the school, it then tries to return to the New Straits Times , the principal anglophone daily newspaper of the country, but this one has already enough draftsmen of press. Four years during, it deals with the heading of the various Faits. In 1974, the writer-in-chief having appreciated the drawings and comic strips published by Lat in the other newspapers of less importance names it directing leading article of his illustrated section. The author creates there Scenes off Malaysian Life , reports drawn mixing social and political considerations with humor. In France, if it is evoked by Thierry Groensteen since 1987 in the Books of the cartoon , it should be waited until 2003 so that an album, Kampung Boy , that is to say translated.
