Lötschberg

The Lötschberg is a crossing point between the Canton of Bern (Kandersteg) and the Canton of Were worth (Lötschental). It there no mountain which bears this name, more the high summit of the surroundings is the Balmhorn (3698 m). In the past one spoke about Lötschberg for the Lötschenpass (collar of Lötschberg nonsuitable for motor vehicles) which is at an altitude of 2690 Mr.
