Ecclesia de Lepino in 1140, Lespenes in 1278, Prioratus de Lepins in 1308, Parrochia de Lespins at the 14th century, Epin in 1729, Lépin in 1732, takes the final name of Lépin-the-Lake by the decree of October 31st, 1930.
