Léontine Ponga
Léontine Ponga is a political woman New Caledonian, of origin kanak and anti-freedom fighter, born Wema in Northern Province (New Caledonia). It is vice-president of the Gathering-UMP since the December 21st 2006, to replace the senator Simon Loueckhote who resigned of the movement. It shares this vice-presidency with Bernard Ukeiwé, wire of the former senator and president of the local executive during the Eighties Dick Ukeiwé.
It has if not be with the 16th position on the list RPCR carried out by France Debien in Northern Province at the time of the provincial ones of 2004 and it was selected in March 2007 as substitute for Pierre Frogier for the legislative elections in the 2nd district. It is if not member of the Economic and Social Council of New Caledonia under the qualified personalities.
