Léonie Aviat

Léonie Aviat or sister Léonie Francoise De Sales Aviat (Sézanne, September 16th 1844 - Perugia, January 10th 1914) is a French nun, founder of the congregation of Oblates of Saint-François the Dirty ones. She was canonized in 2001 by the pope Jean-Paul II.

Biography

Born with Sézanne the September 16th 1844. It makes its studies with the Visitation of Troyes. Formed at the school of Holy François Dirty. In 1868, the young founder of the congregation of spirituality Salésien does not become nun and receives the name of Francoise sister the Dirty ones. She dies in Perugia, the January 10th 1914.

Béatifiée in 1992, the pope Jean-Paul II canonizes it the November 25th 2001.

The Aviat patronym was carried by families of localities of Marnais South-east and Paddle, Sézanne of course, but also Villiers-Herbisse, Herbisse, Angluzelles.
