Léonide Ouspensky
Léonide Alexandrovitch Ouspensky was born the August 8th 1902 in Golaya Snova (today Golosnovka) in the Northern part of the government of Voronèje, with seventy kilometers of the town of Zadonsk. One gave him the name of a saint commemorated in Russia the day of his birth. He died in the night of the 11 with the December 12th 1997. From 1929 with its death, it resided at Paris where he was artist-painter with Montparnasse then painter and restorer of icons. He sought the direction of the old icons and instituted the Théologie of the icon.
