Léonide Massine
Leonid Fedorovitch Myassin , known as Léonide Massine is a Danseur and American choreographer of Russian origin , born with Moscow the August 9th 1896. He studied the dance as of the eight years age at the Imperial School of the Théâtre Bolchoï of Moscow.
Of 1915 with 1921, it was the main thing Chorégraphe Russian Ballets of Serge Diaghilev. After the departure of Vaslav Nijinski, the large male star of the company, it was Massine which danced its roles.
With died of Diaghilev, and that supposed of the Russian Ballets, Massine attempted to revitalize the world of the Ballet with its implication within the Russian Ballets of Monte Carlo.
Massine appears in two of films of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger: red Slippers (1948) and tales of Hoffmann (1951), like in film of Michael Powell Honeymoon (1959).
Léonide Massine is deceased at the 82 years age to Weseke EIB Borken, in Westphalia, the March 15th 1979.
