Léo Collard
Léo Collard , born with Aulnois on July 11th, 1902 and died in Mons on January 27th, 1981, is a Belgian Politician member of the Socialist party.
It chaired the Belgian Socialist party of 1959 1971, station where it had been preceded by max Buset. Its successor was Edmond Leburton. He was also the socialist first burgomaster of Mons of 1953 with 1974.
He was a minister with the head of the department of State education in 1946 and 1954 with 1958. Starting from 1955, the measurements taken against catholic teaching caused raised shields in the catholic world which was to lead in 1958 with the signature of the school Pacte which went since governing the relationship between the private school (private) and the public school.
Although regarded as rather unitarist, his responsibilities with the head for the Socialists led it to give an opinion in favor of the federalism. It also launched in 1969 a call to the Rassemblement of the progressists.
