Léninsk-Kouznetski

Léninsk-Kouznetski (Russian: Ленинск-Кузнецкий ) is a town of Russia of 109.300 inhabitants (2005) located on the large layer of Charbon of the Kouzbass. The city forms part the area (oblast) of Kemerovo and is to 80 km in the south of the regional capital Kemerovo. Léninsk-Kouznetski is sprinkled by the river Inia affluent of the Ob.

The first establishment goes back to 1763 with the creation of a village baptized Koltchouguino . The extraction of coal starts in 1870 but becomes really intensive only in 1912 thanks to French capital. The agglomeration is renamed Léninsk in 1922 then Léninsk-Kouznetski in 1924. It acquires the statute of city in 1925.

The city is entirely turned towards the extraction of coal. Many mines are within the same limits of the city.

The city is on the trunk roads Léninsk-Kouznetski- Novossibirsk and Kemerovo- Novokouznetsk like on the railway lines Novossibirs-Novokouznetsk and Kemerovo-Novokouznetsk. The city has a network of Trolleybus since 1984.
