Lénine price

The Price Lénine (in Russian: Ленинскаяпремия) was one of the highest granted distinctions of the time of the Soviet Union. It was created on June 23rd, 1925 and was granted until 1934. The Lénine Price was not granted between 1935 and 1956, that is to say during the period of reign of Stalin, then was again restored on August 15th, 1956 and was granted until the fall of the USSR in 1990. The Lénine Price was annually granted the April 22nd (birthday of Lénine) in the field of the Science, of the Littérature, the Art S, the Architecture and the Technologie.

The Lénine Price is different from the Prix Lénine for the peace, which as for him was rather granted to foreign citizens in the USSR for their contributions for the " cause paix" (in acceptance that made the USSR of it).

It should not be confused either with the Prix of state of the USSR or with the Prix Stalin. Some people saw themselves granting at the same time the Lénine Price and the Price of state of the USSR.
