Kuujjuaq
Kuujjuaq (Inuktitut: ᑰᔾᔪᐊᖅ) is a Scandinavian Village Nunavik, Quebec, Canada on the river bank Koksoak. In the past baptized “Strong Chimo”, it is the capital of the regional Administration Kativik, an administrative area creature of the Convention of the Bay-James and Québécois North in 1975. Its population rises with more than 2.100 people (Statistics Canada 2006), of which 81% are identified like indigenous (Statistics Canada 2001) and whose it quasi totality are Inuits.
The inhabitants of Kuujjuaq are called Kuujjuamiuq.
