Kurt Atterberg

Kurt Magnus Atterberg (* December 12th 1887 with Gothenburg - † February 15th 1974 with Stockholm) is a Compositeur Swedish.

Works

He is the author of nine Symphonie S, a Concerto for Violon, a concerto for Piano, a concerto for Violoncelle, as well as many works.

They, for the majority, summer did not publish that only once in Compact disk (Naxos). The integral of the symphonies was published by CPO in 2005. The editions of its works in partition S are difficult even impossible to find (except a concerto for horn, at Breitkopf & Härtel).

Style

This type-setter, almost unknown, composed in a romantic style which one can bring closer to that of the type-setters of the Scandinavian nationalist current, in particular Edvard Grieg or Jean Sibelius. One however finds at his place at the same time more diversified influences and a great imagination, as well on the set of themes level as orchestral.
