He is a friend of Saburô Anotsu and one of the first to join the Ittô-Ryû, he thus makes party of the thirty founders of the school. Kuroï is especially important owing to the fact that he is the assassin of Takayashi Asano the father of Lin. Because of that, Lin decides that it will be the first to die.
