Kufi
The kufi is an Arab style of Calligraphie, developed in the town of Koufa in Iraq. It is about the oldest calligraphic form of the Arab , coming from a modification of the old Syriaque. The first specimens of the Coran are penmanships in accordance with this standard. In a modified form, squarer, one finds it on many Moslem monuments.
