Kuchipudi
The kuchipudi is an Indian dance, born in the village from Kuchipudi in the State from the Andhra Pradesh (southern of the India). Like the majority of the Indian ballet dancings, he was played in the temples and in group. Formerly this dance was reserved for the Brahmane S which held also the feminine roles. Today, the kuchipudi can be danced by the women and even in solo. Its training lasts approximately 7 years.
In a general way, the kuchipudi always starts with traditional prayers and offerings. The dancers, characterized by their make-up and their costume, present themselves by the Daru . It is a danced scene which emphasizes the skill of the dancers.
The kuchipudi holds its fame with the fluidity of the movements of the dancers. It is accompanied by a carnatic music of the type very rate/rhythm. Choreography consists of gestural rhythmic and movement of the face. One can see dialogs between the danseurs.
The orchestra which accompanies them is him composed musicians, of a singer and a nattuvanar (the person which directs the orchestra and the singer).
Among the many figures which compose this representation, one can note the presence of the tarangam . It is a figure which one describes as interpreter dances who dances around the plate by balancing a pot filled with water…
