Kristiansand
Kristiansand (known before under the name of Christianssand) is a Norwegian city located in the county of Vest-Agder, of which it constitutes the administrative center. It is also more the big city of the area Sørlandet.
Kristiansand was founded by the King Danish Christian IV the December 5th 1641. The center of Kristiansand is called Kvadraturen because of its streets with Right angle.
Each year in July, Kristiansand accommodates the Quart Festival , a Festival of Rock.
Kristiansand has important installations of construction and repair of the ships which make it possible to support the oil production Norwegian in the North Sea.
The Princesse heiress Puts-Marit was born and was high in Kristiansand.
Note: Even if their names are different, Kristiansand is often called Kristiansand S (S for south) in opposition to Kristiansund which is also a town of Norway (noted Kristiansund NR). This practice dates from the time when the zip codes were not introduced yet and which the mail was sometimes sent in the other city.
