Kris Peeters

Kris Peeters , born with Reet on May 18th, 1962 is a Belgian politician member of CD&V.

Since June 28th, 2007, it is Minister-president Flemish Gouvernement. It succeeds Yves Leterme which had presented on June 26th, 2007 its resignation to the president of Flemish Parlement, Marleen Vanderpoorten.

Kris Peeters was during more than ten years to the head of the ex-NCMV ( Nationaal Christelijk Middenstandsverbond ), Employers' association representing SME. It reorganized it in UNIZO ( Unie van Zelfstandige Ondernemers ), more neutral politically.

In 2004, Peeters was named as a third Minister for the CD&V within the Flemish government. Not elected, it dealt with Public works, the Environment, the Ports and Energy. Its functions within the Department of the Environment were worth to him many criticisms on behalf of the ecologists mediums.
