Krilin is a character of the Manga Dragon Ball . It is one of the characters most present throughout the history, with Its Gokû, Bulma, Yamcha and Kamé Sennin.

The name “Krilin” (Kuririn, Japanese クリリン) is a Onomatopée and means “small bell literally”.

History of Krilin

Its arrival

The physical appearance of Krilin is completely human E except the fact that it does not have nose and that it has six points on its face like the Moine S Shaolin. Its cranium is shaven like wants it the habit for which practices martial arts. It appears at the beginning of the history, at the moment when Its Gokû will start its formation at Kamé Sennin. Krilin requires of this last to teach him the martial arts with him too.

It was until there a young monk (what could explain the origin of the points on its face) which, tired mocking remarks of his/her comrades due in particular to his small size, decided to leave its school of martial arts to go to Kamé Sennin and to become its disciple. Sennin kame, perverse old man, agree to involve Krilin, this one having had the good idea to bring reviews rascals to him.

Initially rival of Its Gokû during their drive, Krilin becomes his/her most faithful friend thereafter and it follows it in its adventures. Its Gokû very quickly proves much more powerful than him, but Krilin itself acquires little by little an extraordinary force which does of him one of the strongest human beings of planet.

Tenka Ichi Budôkai

Krilin takes part with Its Gokû in the 21e, 22e, and 23e Tenka Ichi Budôkai. At the time of the 21e, it is overcome in semi-final by Jacky Chun, which is not other than its Master Kamé Sennin who disguised himself not to be recognized. During the following tournament, it beats Chaozu in quarterfinal, but it must then face Gokû. This last is quite higher and gains the victory to him.

Just after the end of this tournament, Krilin is assassinated by one of the henchmen of Piccolo Daimaô, which was released by Pilaf. But Its Gokû finally manages to kill Piccolo Daimaô, and Krilin is then ressuscity using the Dragon Balls.

At the time of the 23e Tenka Ichi Budôkai, it must face Piccolo, the son of Piccolo Daimaô. But despite everything its courage, Krilin is too weak and ends up giving up vis-a-vis its frightening adversary.

The arrival of Saiyans

The following year, after the death of Raditz and Its Gokû, the Saiyan S Vegetated and Nappa arrives on Ground to conquer the Planet. Krilin arrives, with Its Gohan, to survive until the return of Gokû. This last overcomes Nappa but is beaten by Végéta at the time when it was going to launch the Genki Dama . However, he manages to transmit energy to Krilin which succeeds in making use of it to strike Végéta.

Krilin has then the possibility of completing this one before it turns over in its space capsule, but at the request of Its Gokû, it leaves him the safe life.

On Namek

Having learned that other Dragon Balls exist on Namek, the planet of origin of Kami-sama, Krilin decides to go there with Bulma and Its Gohan in order to ressusciter the victims of Saiyans. Once on the spot, they are confronted with Freezer and all these soldiers, but also in Végéta which also wishes to acquire the Dragon Balls to him.

Krilin returns visit to the large Master of Nameks, which releases its potential of combat, but it is impotent all the same vis-a-vis the Commando Ginyû, just like Its Gohan, and Vegetated which had to be combined with them. But after the arrival of Its Gokû, the special forces of Freezer are beaten. Krilin must then face Freezer but this one wounds it seriously. However, it is looked after by Dendé, small Namek that him and Gohan had saved soldiers of Freezer.

Thereafter, at the time of the interminable combat between Its Gokû and Freezer, this last seems at one time to be overcome by an attack of Gokû. But this one returns suddenly and completes Krilin coldly, which results in to increase the anger of Its Gokû at the point to make it transform itself into Super Saiyan of level 1.

Several months after the defeat of Freezer, Krilin is finally ressuscity thanks to the Dragon Balls of Nameks.

Against Cyborgs

As from this moment of the history, the emergence of Super Saiyans marks the decline of the importance of Krilin in the combat, which remains however one of human strongest, with Ten Shin Han and Yamcha.

When all his/her friends are overcome by the Cyborg S C-17 and C-18, Krilin is frightened too much to take share with the combat, but C-18 makes him a kiss on the cheek at the time from to go away what marks it deeply. Krilin in tomb in love in spite of the competition which opposes them. Later, whereas it with the possibility of decontaminating the androïde thanks to a remote control, it cannot there be solved, and chooses to save it.

After the defeat of Concealment, Krilin requires of Shenron to decontaminate the system of self-destruction of C-18 and, a few years later, one discovers Krilin which married C-18. They have a girl, fore-mentioned together Maron. At this time of the series, Krilin says just that they “live together”, but in the OAV and later in Dragon Ball WP , it indicates clearly C-18 by the term 女房 (nyoubou), “my wife”. Certain sources say that it ceased shaving cranium by stopping the engagements, but at the time of a conversation with Goku (episode 210), it suggests that in fact to like it his wife would be, the more so as it does not stop the engagements before the end of the saga of Boo.

On the whole of the manga, Krilin seems an omnipresent character. Even if its force is far from equalizing that of Super Saiyens, it is probably the human being most extremely on Earth, and helps the group thanks to its intelligence. It is the character who generally dies in all the history. It is used sometimes as comic element, especially before the arrival of Mr. Satan.
