Krasnodar

Krasnodar () is at the same time the name of an area and its capital. It is located at the south of the Russia. It was founded (in 1793) on the river Kouban, in the north of the the Caucasus by the Cosaque S of the Dniepr come to keep the borders of Russia in the north of the Black Sea. The old name of the city, carried until December 1920, was Ekaterinodar (Екатеринодар), which means: the gift of Catherine (gift of the tsarina, sponsors city, with its guard cossack).
C' is the capital of the Krai de Krasnodar (or Kazachestva de Kouban; Cossack of Kouban), whose economy are based on the agriculture of this area very rich in corn, tobacco, rice, the, reason, beet sugar… The city shelters a considered factory, which manufactures porcelain.

The population is in strong increase: 646175 inhabitants in 2002 (Russian census), and 710400 inhabitants in 2006 (estimate).

The district of Krasnovar covers 83600 km and accommodated 24294000 inhabitants in 1983. It is also called Kouban (name of the river which crosses it), located at the North-West of the Caucasus of north, and having strategic outlets on the Black Sea and the sea of Azov.

History

the city is a kind of mushroom town which was built around a fortress raised by the cossacks for in particular defending Russia against Turkish inclinations of conquest of the area.
En 1888 45,000 people lived approximately there, whereas the city became a shopping mall viata for south-Russia
En a 1897 Obelisque was high to commemorate 200 years of stories.
La city and the district suffered from the civil war (1918-1920), during which it changed camp several times. At the time of the Second world war, it was occupied by the Nazis of August 12th 1942 at February 12th 1943. The very damaged city was rebuilt after the war.

This area made speak about it in the whole world in February then September 2007 because of hearths of Avian flu (see).

An airline company (Kuban Airlines) serves the area via the aerodrome of the city which shelters various hotels (Intourist, Hotel Moskva, Hotel Platan). Electricity is delivered into 220 V/50 Hz, via socket-outlets to two holes.

The monuments most visited by the tourists are the cathedral co. Catherine, the museum of Art, the Park Gorki and a theater of the same name (Maxim Gorky), etc

One circulates there in the bicycle, bus, trolley bus, trams, and Marshrutka S.
