Kosala
The Kosala (Sanskrit: कोशल) was among the sixteen most powerful States of the India towards 600 av. J. - C.. It corresponds at the current Indian State of the Oudh.
State suzerain of much of satellite territories, whose Kapilavastu, it was opposed since always to its neighbor, the Magadha, before being absorbed following a long war towards 450 av. J. - C.. Famous for its wars, Kosala, once disappeared, left many private states of order. It is quoted in many texts, of which the Râmâyana , like several texts jainists and Buddhist.
