Kopet-Dag
Kopet-Dag is an assembly line of Central Asia, located at the border between the Iran and the Turkménistan. It extends on nearly 650 km along the border, in the east of the Caspian Sea. More the high summit of the Turkménistan is located at the south-west of the capital Ashgabat and amounts to 2940 Mr. more the Iranian high summit is to 3191 m of altitude.
The area saw the emergence of cultures among oldest of the area: that of Jeitun, with the Neolithic era (thousand-year-old VIIè front J. - C.), and that of Namazga-depe (Vè-IIIè millenia). The old city Parthian of Nisa (or Nessa) is located on the buttresses of the chain, close to Ashgabat.
