Konya

Solre-on-Sambre (in Walloon Sour-so-Sambe ) is a section of the common Belgian of Erquelinnes located in Walloon region in the Province of Hainaut.

It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.

Etymology

The name of Solre-on-Sambre finds its origin in the Celtic word ground-macaw meaning “muddy water”.

History

The castle is currently the property of prince Amaury of Mérode.

Tourism

The museum " Friends of Solre" , located at the arts center, recalls all the history of this locality and its surroundings by the exposure of various objects, files, old photographs, costumes, etc…
