Konstantin Georgiev
Konstantin Georgiev , (Bulgarian: КонстантинГеоргиев) (August 25th 1873 with Breznik - April 14th 1925 with Sofia), soldier and Bulgarian politician.
Born in the town of Breznik (according to other sources with Taban, in the area of Dragoman), it makes its studies at the military academy of Sofia in 1895 and in a military academy in Russia. The same year, it begins its military career as artillery second lieutenant of mountain. Later, it is promoted lieutenant (1895), captain (1904), commander (1910), lieutenant-colonel (1914) and colonel (1917). In 1917, it occupies the station of assistant as a chief to the Staff of the 5th division of infantry of the the Danube. In 1920, after being raised of its command, it obtains the rank of brigadier general.
After the First World War, Konstantin Georgiev engages in the military Ligue (a Bulgarian paramilitary organization) and resigns of the army. He then becomes chief of the district of Sofia for the military League and is elected appointed at the XXI National Assembly (1923-1927) for the party of the governmental majority, the Entente national. The April 14th 1925, Konstantin Georgiev is assassinated by the communist terrorist Atanas Todovichin in front of the church of the Seven Saints (Sveti Sedmotchislenitzi) where it went for the mass of the evening, with its grand-daughter. With its funeral, the April 16th 1925, the Communists explode a bomb during the ceremony (Attentat of the cathedral Sveta-Nedelya), causing the death of 128 people.
