Komusubi
ō Komusubi (小結) is the fourth plus high ranking of the fight Sumo, behind Yokozuna, ôzeki and Sekiwake, it is also the last row of the Sanyaku, top of the makuuchi (the first division) The row of komusubi is smallest of the rows or to finish with a kachikoshi (a majority of victories) is not inevitably enough to evolve/move in the banzuke (the classification). That depends on the release of a place to the immediately higher rank: that of sekiwake, put aside if the rikishi (the fighter) carried out a basho (a tournament) particularly convincing (minimal score of 10-5 generally necessary), in this case, the banzuke according to will count a sekiwake moreover. There is always a minimum of two fighters classified with the row of komusubi; if the circonstences require it, this number can increase, passing to 3 or 4. Before the second world war, there was several rikishi classified komusubi which was directly promoted with the rank of ôzeki after having gained a tournament (yushô), but this reproduced very little since.
