Komarr (Romance)
Komarr is a novel of Lois McMaster Bujold published in 2000. It is the 12th work of the Saga Vorkosigan.
Summary of the history
Three months after its nomination at the station of Imperial Listener (see Memory), his load leads it on the new possession of Barrayar, the Komarr colony. Indeed, the solar mirror which allowed the terraformation was destroyed, and Miles, helped by his colleague the Vorthys Listener must inquire into the accident. This investigation is very important politically because this mirror belongs to a project of Terraformation, it is the most important project of Komarr for finally returning the whole of livable planet.It proves that it was about a plot to destroy the only hole of worm of Barrayar. This plot is destroyed thanks to the assistance of the niece of Vorthys, Ekaterin, with which Miles very quickly falls in love.
Comments
The book can be read only, Lois McMaster Bujold endeavors to make independent its works. They are even relatively good starting point, for those which like the SF without being attracted by all that touches with the soldier, on the one hand because it is the first volume of the adventures of Miles in its new civil career, on the other hand because part of the book is told from the point of view of Ekaterin, which is unaware of all the preceding life of Miles.
Nevertheless, of the references are made, which take another direction in the light of the former works. The indication given are those of the French edition I have Lu 5590.
