Kolombangara

Kolombangara is an island located in the Western province of the the Solomon Islands, near the News-Georgia. The island is circular and has a diameter of approximately 15 kilometers. It is formed by a Stratovolcan which culminates with 1.770 meters with the Veve Mount. The island forms the southern limit of the Détroit of News-Georgia; it is separate in the North-West of Vella Lavella and of Gizo by the gulf of Calved, and in the south-east of the News-Georgia by the gulf of Kula.

Kolombangara is an island covered with forests with few inhabitants.
