Koku

A koku (石) is a unit of the medieval Japan which was useful has to define the richness of a stronghold. It represents the quantity of rice eaten by Japanese in one year; 180,39 liters of rice. One used the koku as measuring unit of volume (for example for the quantity of goods which a boat could carry)
