Kodiak Launch Complex
The Kodiak Launch Complex (KLC) is a site of launching of rocket of the US government located at 57°26' 09" of Northern latitude and 152°20' 16" of Western longitude, on the island Kodiak, coastal island of the south of the Alaska.
The Kodiak Launch Complex belongs to the Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation and is conceived for the launching of rockets with solid fuel. A small number of military shootings of test for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO) were carried out from this launching center as well as of orbital launchings.
The KLC was built at a cost of 60 million dollars (federal funds and government stocks of Alaska). Since the first launching, the incomes of launchings did not succeed in covering the annual costs of operation of the center, the deficit being covered by federal funds.
To date, all launchings were governmental launchings: one of NASA and the military remainder.
