Head is the former guitarist of Korn. It chose to leave the group after being turned towards the Christianisme. It was replaced in 2005 by Rob Patterson (ex-guitarist of Otep) which ensures only the performances live of the group on the " See You One The Other Side Tour". On the round 2007, it is Clint Lowery which will take care of the 2nd guitar, Munky recording only the guitars studios. To note that the members of the group decided that the second guitarist would not replace Head on scene, but would remain more in withdrawal, and carrying a mask. David Silveria decided to take a small pause in 2007. It will be Terry Bozzio (ex-musician of Frank Zappa) which will ensure this short interim. In May 2007, Joey Jordison announces that it will ensure the battery on the next round of the group. David Silveria leaves the group however the door remains open for him, it can thus return if it wishes it.

Joey Jordison was present on the festival of the Hellfest, but Korn cancelled their representation, following the too bad weather, “they were afraid to be made electrocute while playing” specified the person in charge of the hellfest to the voluntary ones. Then they set out again with their check out of pocket of an amount of 25.000 € (nonverifiable source, it is an approximation according to the person in charge of the fest.) Following that, Hellfest continues Korn in lawsuit. Because this cancellation made more than 27.000 festival dissatisfied. .

Before Korn

Korn is partly resulting from group L.A.P.D. made up of Munky, Fieldy Snuts, David and Richard Morales with the song. They played on small scenes around Los Angeles, until 1989, year to which they leave their first individual, Love And Peace, Dude on the label TripleX Records. In 1991, they do their first album leave Who' S Laughin' Now? . The group separates then from its singer, too judged “space” by the other members. Besides Munky evokes an evening where Richard Morales refused to sing because its guitarist had cut the hair and which that had broken the “wave”. LAPD is thus on the decline. The musicians decide to take Brian “Head” Welch in their rows to form Creep. Munky and it knew themselves since the college but LAPD had up to now refused to take a second guitarist. The group always remains without singer. One evening of the beginning of 93, Munky and Head attend a concert of Sex Art in a club of Barkersfield. One knows only one song of this group, Inside, left on a compilation gathering some groups Bakersfield, Cultivation '92 . Munky and Head return on their premises, and on the way cross a salesman of pizza pie howling against a person who had made a false order, Jonathan Davis is made hear. “We remained stops bée” declared Munky. Creep thus proposes in Jonathan to carry out a test. Jonathan however is not very packed but decides to carry out the test all the same. Later, for hearing, Creep plays Alive , music already composed by the quartet. “And it started to improvise on our music” declares Munky. “One looked at oneself and one immediately knew that it was perfect”. Finally Jonathan Davis integrates the group, renamed KoRn for the occasion. Small anecdote with the history, Fieldy and Jonathan knew themselves, their fathers played in the same group. In their youth, Fieldy was rather malicious besides with Jonathan: “It pricked me my Tee-shirts” declared Davis later.

KoЯn Live At Hammerstein, N.Y.C. : first Dvd live of Korn. The DVD was recorded at the time of the concert of launching of their fifth album Untouchables . The diffusion in the concert was first technological because the concert was diffused in real-time in several cinemas throughout the world.
Live One The Other Side : DVD in the concert recorded during the launching of the last album See You One The Other Side left on June 20th, 2006.

Anecdotes

Korn appeared in one of the episodes of South Park (where the song Falling away from was audible for me for the first time) like in the series Monk.

the name of the group was found by Jonathan Davis. This last explains of it the origin in the DVD Deuce . At the time of the creation of the quintet, a history was told about one evening sprinkled a little where two homosexual made love and one of them would have déféqué on its partner, this last being found with a corn grain (corn, in English) in the mouth. The rumor nauseated and made laugh the members of the group and Jonathan proposed the name of Korn. The others answered him “F*ck yeah! ” (in French: “Whore, ouais! ”).

Brian Welch is called “Head” because of the alleged oversize size of its head.

Jonathan Davis is called “HIV” since the college where its look new-wave was not very appreciated. Its thinness and its a little effeminate pace (it sometimes happened to him to put eyeliner) were worth this nickname to him because everyone believed that it was reached AIDS. It was made besides tattoo letters HIV on the left arm.

Reginald Arvizu is called “Fieldy” because of its resemblance to the cat Garfield, like starting from the sentence “ Feel this nuts ” (“Direction me that”).

Since the departure of Head, Munky prefers that the replacing guitarist is not on scene instead of Head. In concert, the pieces often requiring two guitars, Rob Patterson plays behind the amplifiers. For certain concerts of the new round of the group, Christian Olde Wolbers (guitarist of Fear Factory and old friend of the group) replaced Rob Patterson. Christian had the right to play on scene, but affublé of a rabbit mask!

Munky is called thus because of its toes and its fingers which deviate abnormally.

In June and July 2006, the singer Jonathan Davis was hospitalized in a London private clinic for an infection of blood undoubtedly due to an allergy (will purpura thrombocytopenic idiopathic). Its tiredness at the time of the round has constrained it to take rest and to cancel several dates, of which their date with the Hellfest.

David Silveria announced in December 2006 to want to make a pause, in order to turn over to other occupations. Already absent at the time of MTV Unplugged recorded at the end of the year, it will not appear either on the eighth album studio, the good named " Untitled" left on July 31st, 2007. The beater of the group Slipknot, Joey Jordison, replaces it during the round 2007 which began well before the exit from the new album.

After their absence with the Hellfest 2006, the group at summer reinvity for the Hellfest 2007 when they appeared at the head of poster of the first evening, but they cancelled their concert a few hours before their appearance on stage, pretexting the bad weather, after one day of presence and being ensured to have received their remuneration.
