Košíře is a district pragois in the west of the center. It is between the districts of Smíchov and Motol. It makes party of the district of Prague 5.

History

Košíře was a village, until the end of the 19th century. Then at the time of the industrial revolution, he experienced quickly a development. Because of the many factories with Smíchov, it was necessary to find a place to place the ouvriers.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Košíře becomes a city. However its existence as a city does not last a long time. Since 1922, Prague increases and Košíře loses its independence to become a district about it.
