Knokke-Heist

Knokke-Heist is a common Dutch-speaking of Belgium located in Flemish Région in the Province of Western Flanders.

It is a Seaside resort of the Belgian coast (the North Sea). High place of Belgian tourism, particularly of the middle-classes and easy.

Fauna and Flora

Natural reserve, Zwin : Zwin is a Natural reserve Littoral. It is also the largest salted territory of Belgium.

Garden of the butterflies (De Vlindertuin) :

One finds the most beautiful specimens of butterflies which come from the four corners of the monde.
300 butterflies are listed of which the Papillon of passion, the tropical Nocturne, the Noctuelle lithorhise, the Pasha with two tails, the Morpho cypris.

Gastronomy

the waffles of “Moeder Siska” (the Siska Mother) are one of the traditions of Knokke-Heist. These waffles are in the clover shape “in five hearts”.

The Siska Mother started to make her waffles in 1892 and its secret receipt always faces the years.

Throughout the walk restaurants are. The first establishment of the dam was open in 1896 in the old body of guard of a French fort dating from the Napoleonean period.
