Knights of Baphomet
the Knights of Baphomet is a Video game of ventures, developed by Revolution Software, left on PC and PSX in 1996.
History of the development
The play is the first opus of successful series which became one of the emblems of the plays of adventure in Point-and-click .
Ports
The play was adapted on Game Boy Advance by Bam! Entertainment and left on March 28th, 2002. This version is identical to the original play; only the voices are absent because of the limited size of the support.
Synopsis
Whereas it is on vacation in Paris, George Stobbart, sympathetic nerve American tourist, is pilot of an attack made in a coffee by a man disguised as a clown. Pushed by her curiosity and her desire to know the reasons of this attack, George finds himself embarked in a tinted adventure of mysteries and conspiracy… It is shouldered by Nicole Collard, alias Nico, a journalist Frenchwoman who decided to inquire into the strange events which proceeded in Paris. Of needle and thread, George and Nico will traverse the world to try to solve this enigma which has a relationship with the Ordre of Templiers.
The play resembles a cartoon much, a little like famous the Monkey Island and Day off the Tentacle . The French version has a very convincing sound doubling (for example George has an American accent). All the dialogs of the play are spoken.
The name of the play comes from the Templiers. The knights refer to this order monk-soldier which existed in Europe of 12th at the 14th century and which inspired by many legends. The Baphomet as for him, is an idol representing the evil. Templiers were shown idolâtrer, wrongly, to condemn them. This idol would resemble a horrible horned and bearded head, with sometimes of the anatomical elements borrowed from various creatures (feet of bull, mane of lion,…) who make think of the mythical creatures such as the Sphinx or the Griffon .
Gameplay
The play is based on the system of Point-and-click . In decorations in two dimensions, the player must solve enigmas (often by rather eccentric means) while discussing with the characters neighborhood and by using the objects which it collected in the course of road.
