Knightfall

The principal intrigue of Knightfall starts however with the escape from all the criminals. The plan of Hamper consisted in as much as possible weakening Batman by obliging it to face its worst enemies at the same time.

This event also created a conflict between Tim Drake and Batman, this last wanting to face alone with this problem.

Bruce Wayne is seen obliged to ask for the assistance of Jean-Paul Valley. This last threads the costume of Batman in order to protect Gotham. Tim Drake however sees of an evil eye this decision and fact knowledge in Bruce Wayne which he would have preferred that Dick Grayson threads the costume of Batman. However, this decision is justified by the fact that Bruce did not want that Dick has to face Bane.

Shortly after these incidents, the Dr. Shondra Kinsolving and Jack Drake, the father of Tim, are made kidnap. Bruce Wayne and Alfred leave the country in order to find their trace. These events are recalled in Knightquest: The Search, whereas Knightquest: The Crusade, reports what it occurs to Gotham during the same time.

Jean-Paul, taking his role of Batman more and more to serious, makes modifications to the costume, becomes increasingly paranoiac and is wary even of Robin. In Batman #500, Jean-Paul manages however to overcome Bane.
