The Klondike is a Canadian river , in the Yukon Territory, affluent of the Fleuve Yukon.
The name comes from Throndëk (“hammer being used to fix the fish nets”), name given by the Amerindian people Hän of the area. The river is long approximately 160 km and is thrown in Yukon with Dawson City. The river gave its name to the area.
In 1896, gold bearing rich person layers were discovered in the area, causing the Gold rush of Klondike. This racing ended towards 1906.
