Klingon

The Klingons are, in the universe of fiction of Star Trek , a species Extraterrestre originating in the Planet Kronos (Qo' our in klingon).

Physiologies

Klingons are humanoïdes generally larger and more forts that the Humains because of a powerful musculature.

An osseous edge bars their face vertically. This edge is the genetic mark of the species, specifying the membership of a house while differentiating the individuals.

Their internal anatomy seems different from that of the Human ones. It is noted that: Klingons have two Foie S, two Cœur S with eight rooms, 26 coasts, three lungs and several stomachs. This characteristic, that they call the brak' lul , gives them a great resistance and allows them to survive serious wounds.

Klingons have a poor knowledge of their own biology and their medicine is developed very little. This ignorance is undoubtedly explained by their warlike traditions: one generally expects that wounded Klingon survives or dies, according to his resistance, or practical the Hegh' beats , a form of ritual suicide (see Star Trek: The new generation : Ethical - Ethics and Star Trek: To travel : Line - Lineage ).

Klingons are, appears it, unable to cry. However, Spock declared that according to the legend, the warrior Kahless unforgettable the would have filled an ocean with his tears (see Star Trek VI: Unknown ground ).

History

Klingons prove one of the first E.B.E met by the land ones and post like recurring enemies of the Fédération of plain planets during the original televised series.

But following the Agreements of Khitomer, an alliance is tied between the Federation and the Empire klingon which will be broken only at the time of the conflict with the Dominion.

The Empire klingon, in which the political history abounds in intrigues, is articulated around the Qo planet' our, true motherland of Klingons.

Towards the IXe century of the Gregorian Calendar terrestrial, the empire is created by the Kahless warrior the unforgettable one; this one ended up joining together the people klingon after having killed his brother, the tyrant Morath, with the sword of honor of Klingons called Bat' leth.

In 2151, a first disastrous contact has place between human and Klingons.

In 2292, alliance between the Empire klingon and the Stellar Empire Romulien are dissolved.

In 2293, Praxis, one of the satellites of Qo' our, are almost entirely destroyed by a gigantic explosion, whereas he played an important role in the production of energy. The agreements of Khitomer ensuring peace between the Empire klingon and the Federation are signed.

In 2346, the Romulien S massacre 4  000 colonists let us klingons installed on the planet Khitomer.

In 2369, a clone of Kahless, obtained by the monks of Boreth starting from blood coming from a relic, is presented like original Kahless. In spite of the controversy, the clone is recognized like legitimate heir to the throne: it receives the honorary title of Empereur of the people klingon.

Culture

The Klingon empire has its own culture, its language, its technology, primarily of warlike orientation.

The principal character traits of Klingons are certainly the aggressiveness and the direction of the Honneur, indissociable of that of the family.

Their company, extremely complex, is organized according to a feudal system around clans which are in fact of the families of high line, generally recognized for their warlike important facts. Traditionally, these families sit at the High council Klingon, body charged to control on the planet-mother.

The organization, very Military, born from a gigantic fortress very Spartan, is dominated by the Chambre of the Council, at the same time supreme court and Agora, from or emanates the High council, reign on the empire.

The life of Klingons is also regulated by a certain number of rites like the Rite of succession, the Rite of the rise or the rite of dead. The absence of respect of the rites and traditions is an affront made not only at all the company klingonne but more especially the family which in remainder sullied during several generations.

Klingons must also die honourably, i.e. as a combatant, which opens to them the doors of Sto-vo-kor which, according to mythology klingonne, is the “paradise” of the warriors klingons, kept by Kahless.
