Kleinstaaterei
The Kleinstaaterei was the parcelling out of the Saint Germanic Roman Empire as from the 15th century in several small hundreds State S and principalities which imbricated the ones in the others. The term, formed on of [[wikt: klein klein]] (small) and of [[wikt: Staat Staat]] (State), does not know French translation; its direction approaches that of Balkanisation.
By reorganizing the Germany and by secularizing the ecclesiastical goods, Napoleon began what the German Unité was going to complete in 1871: the disappearance of this “anarchy with monarchical form”.
The German historians also use the term to indicate the similar situation which prevailed in the Italy of before the Risorgimento.
