Klaus Tennstedt

Klaus Tennstedt is a German Leader , born with Merseburg on June 6th 1926 and dead close to Kiel on January 11th 1998

Biography

After studies of violin to the Conservatory of Leipzig, it begins its career of leader to Halle in 1948. In 1958, it is named with the head of the Opera of Dresden and directs the full orchestras of the Eastern European countries under control of the Soviet Union.

It leaves East Germany in 1971 to join Sweden before being named with Hamburg in 1979. It is then invited to direct to the United States then is based with London in 1983.

Repertory

Its remarkable integral of the symphonies of Gustav Mahler as much as its public recordings showed a physical engagement allowing of dramatic interpretations of high behavior.
