Klaus-Dietrich Flade

Klaus-Dietrich Flade (born the August 23rd 1952) is officer of the German army and spationaut.

Biography

It obtains initially a pilot's license then a patent of chimiste.

In 1990, after a eighteen months formation in the space center of the city of the stars (meadows of Moscow), it is selected to become cosmonaut (2nd group of the DLR).
He is today pilot tester of Airbus.

Flight carried out

The March 17th 1992, it takes seat on board the flight Soyuz TM-14, and takes part in mission MIR-92 (Мир' 92) as a scientist. He is thus first German to be flown towards the space station Mir.
