The island of Kish جزیرهکیش|Jazireh-ye Kish is an island Iran ienne and a city in the Persian Gulf, the province of Hormozgan. Because of its statute of free exchange zone, she is recognized like a paradise for the consumers and has many shopping malls, shops, attractions tourist and hotels of tourism. Approximately 150.000 inhabitants (and 1.500.000 visitors per annum).

Geography

The island of Kish is located at 18 kilometers in the south of the southern part of Iran, with approximately 300  kilometers of the port of Bandar Abbas. Its surface of 91,5  km ² extends on an elliptic zone a length from 13  km (East-West) and a height of 7  km (North-South). The culminating point of the island east its oriental party who rises with 45  meters with the top of the sea level. The average altitude of the island east of 32  meters.

Culture and economy

Since the medium of the Years 1990, the Iranian government launched out in a muscular campaign of development and promotion aiming at fair of Kish a rival of Dubai and especially of Doha. The measurements taken in this direction are, inter alia, of the overall construction projects and the intended programs to attract the investment and the international business. The laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran are applied with more flexibility in the free zone of Kish than to the continent, which allowed increase in foreign tourism and the international business on the island. Alcohol remains however illegal there, as in the remainder of the country. The inhabitants are mainly Moslem, with a Christian minority .
