Kingersheim
Kingersheim is a common French located in the northern suburbs of Mulhouse. It belongs to the department Haut-Rhin and area Alsace. Of a tiny village a few centuries ago, Kingersheim became the eighth commune of Haut-Rhin. Very residential, it offers nevertheless unexpected visions.
Its inhabitants is called Kingersheimois and Kingersheimoises.
Geography
Kingersheim is located in the plain of Alsace. The city thus does not have almost reliefs. She knows a strong increase in her population since 1999, due to the proximity of Mulhouse. The statistics count on 14.000 inhabitants in 2008. “Wedged” between Wittenheim and Mulhouse, sudden Kingersheim of the important automobile transits in particular on the level of Kaligone (2nd retail park of Alsace). History
Kingersheim appears for the first time in 1195 pennies the denomination of Kemingsen and owes its origin a legend, with a hunting lodge probably set up in the historical center. The chronicle of Schoenensteinbach speaks about the state of the parishes about Wittenheim and Kingersheim during the XII and XIIe century. this chronicle reports that in the year 1199, the Lüthold bishop of Basle, orders that the vault of Kinsgersheim is attached to the parish of Wittenheim. In 1202, the Innocent pope III, confirmed the letters of ordinance of the two bishops. In 1216, the abbey of Neuwiller made gift to the convent of Schoenensteibach of a relic of Adelphe Saint who was deposited in the vault of Kingersheim.The noble ones of Hus Wittenheim were the lords as of XIVe century and, thereafter, their successors, the noble ones of Andlau. The autonomy of the village thus appears at the end of XVe century. Louis d' Andlau de Kingersheim was the first of Andlau to build the castle of Kingersheim and to live there.
