Kingdom of the Commonwealth

A kingdom of the Commonwealth ( the Commonwealth realm ) is one of the 16 independent States members the Commonwealth who recognize the chief of the Commonwealth, currently the Queen Elisabeth II as being their Head of State. Each one of these States gives a royal title to the sovereign of the Commonwealth, in his personal name. They are thus linked personally the ones with the others via their sovereign, carrying the title for each one of them, but keep each one their independence. The Queen is represented symbolically in each state by a general governor, or equivalent, differently indicated from one country with the other. The functions of this representative are mainly symbolic systems. The Queen does not play there a part of chief of the government (the title of Head of State is generally honorary), but it occasionally attends historically important events in these kingdoms. She has a duty of reserve in the countries of which she is the sovereign.
