The organic Sénatus-consulte of the February 17th 1810 envisaged in its article 7: “The imperial prince the crown prince carries the title and receives the honors of king de Rome”. This title had not been envisaged by the constitution of year XII.

King de Rome and of Algiers

It is by imitation that one thought of giving the title of king d' Alger to the son of Napoleon III but one stuck finally to the title of Prince Impérial . This explains the name of the street of King-in Algiers with Paris which is due to an private initiative.
