Around film
- If one brings it back to his environment, the size of King Kong varies during film: one can estimate it at 6 meters in the island, a little more than 7 on scene with New York and almost 20 in top of the Empire State Building.
- the aspect of Kong also changes: there exist notable differences between the monkey of Skull Island and that of New York.
- the pilots of the planes are played by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, the realizers of film.
- the film arose several times between 1938 and 1956, with often of new cuts to the key. It is only since 1971 that one can re-examine an almost complete film (with for example the stripping of Fay Wray by the animal which had been cut by the censure in 1938). However, at least a scene remains invisible, that where four sailors are devoured alive by a giant spider. This scene had been cut at the request of the producer after the first of film and one found only some bits of them. Also, at the time of the edition in DVD of film in 2005, the realizer Peter Jackson and a team of specialists in the special effects recreated the scene, now included in the no-claims bonus of the DVD.
- Plus of 90% of film comprises fakings (Animation image by image, Composition of plan…).
- the film exceeded its budget of more than 80%.
- In the same year of 1933, Ernest B. Schoedsack carries out a continuation: the Son of King Kong ( Its off Kong ), where it is discovered that King Kong had left behind him a son. Exit too quickly, this following summer a success.
