Kinema Junpo

Kinema Junpo (キネマ旬報) is a Japanese review of Cinéma which exists since July 1917, often shortened in Kinejun .

History

In July 1917, appears a layer of four pages specialized in the nonJapanese cinema, published by four people. The publication stops in December 1940 because of the war and takes again in March 1946. Since this time and until today, the review appears twice per month, the 5 and the 20.

The Signal ten of Kinema Junpo

In 1924, the review decrees two prices crowning pleasant film more and more artistic among nonJapanese films. In 1926, the price extends to Japanese films.

Since the review elects each year best Japanese film and best foreign film. Starting from 1972, the readers of Kinema Junpo choose them also their best film. The price Kinema Junpo is one of the rewards most coveted in the world cinema.
