Kimera

Of its true name Hong Hee Kim, Kimera is an opera singer born on January 10th, 1958 has Daegu (Taegu), in South Korea. To the beginning of its career, it was presented in the form of a princess, downward dynasty of Silla, which reigned nearly 1000 years.

Youth in Korea

At 12 years, Kimera sings as a soloist with the National Metropolitan Choir and appears regularly in the various programs of KBS (Korean Broadcasting System). However, his/her father Daishik Kim, a very preserving industrialist is refractory with the artistic career of his daughter.

At 20 years, Kimera obtains a license in French literature at the university Sung Sin of Seoul; after having hesitated much, his/her father accepts that his/her daughter leaves to complete her studies in France with the Sorbonne because it wishes to make a professor of letters of it.

Arrival in France

In France, Kimera continues its studies of French literature to the Sorbonne (or it obtains a control) and in hiding-place of his/her father, courses of art Lyrique follow to the Teacher training school of music of Paris. It has as a professor Mady Mesplé.

In June 1984, it obtains by unanimous vote of the jury, the Diploma Higher of Lyric art than Paris. But if the opera the fascine, it is also allured by the modern music and new technologies in the musical field.

Doctor Abitbol, speech therapist specialist in the voices, declares that the vocal cords of Kimera are single in the world because they enable him to practically produce without effort, a range of four octaves. Kimera can thus sing on several repertories, of Carmen (Contralto) to the Reine of the Night (Soprano Coloratura).

At this period, it knows already that it will not be teaching any more, but singer.

During a business dinner where it is used as interpreter, it meets Raymond Nakachian, 26 years a Lebanese industrial rich person its groin. Against the opinion of its family, she marries it and couples it settles some time with Las Vegas then fixes itself at Estepona, a village a few kilometres from Marbella, on the Costa del Sol.

Career

Kimera wanted to reconcile the opera and the modern music, its two passions. In December 1984, with the assistance her husband and of John Fiddy, it creates the group Kimera and the Operaiders and records its first album with the London Symphony Orchestra. Its pseudonym is the contraction of Kim, and Operated. Lost O? will éra is compilations of the more great outdoors of opera, accompanied by batteries, synthetizers. It replaces the " P" of opera by a "? " in order to mark its distance with respect to the traditional opera. The singer is done also and especially to notice by behaviors (create by his/her sister An Woo Kim, designer) and a make-up inspired of the Korean traditional make-up and which becomes its " chart of visite". Lost O? will éra, unanimously criticized by all the purists of the classical music , is sold to 3.5 million specimens in the five continents. The second album, O? express will éra, which leaves the following year, rests on the same principle of musical interbreeding and is a success identical to the first.

With each one of its appearances, it is accompanied dancers and plays with pyrotechnical choreographies, lights and effects. Kimera defines itself its musical style of Rock'n'roll-Opera , or of Popera , contration of Pop and Opéra .

It is Guy Lux, the first which will invite it in its emissions and will thus make it know in France.

Removal of Melody

Of its marriage with Raymond Nakachian, Kimera has two children, Mélodie in 1982 and Amir in 1984. Many a " newspapers people" articles devote to this billionaire family which posts a particularly luxurious way of life. Nakachian offered to his wife white marble villa a called Villa Melody ; built on 5 hectares of park with heliport, artificial lake and swimming pools, it counts about thirty parts and becomes the appointment of the international Jet-set. With some steps of the villa, the yatch of family is amaré with Puerto Banus, the " port of the milliardaires".
This publicity is perhaps one of the various reasons of a fact which strikes the family brutally. The November 9th 1987, two men armed take in ambush the car which leads Mélodie to the school. The young girl is torn off vehicle and is removed against a ransom demand of 13 million dollars. The young girl is finally found healthy and safe after 11 days of detention. This event will do the one of the newspapers in Europe during several weeks.

Great years

In 1988, Kimera becomes the ambassadress of the South Korea in the world by giving a concert at the time of the opening of OJ of summer of Seoul. It is during several months the godmother of Intercontinent, an emission of Guy Lux, of which it interprets the credits.

In 1991, it interprets the Boléro of Ravel in Russia with the ballets of the Bolchoï and will have an immediate success in this country. It gives also a concert to the Escurial in Spain. The receipts of its recitals are always intended for humane works

During its career, Kimera have for intention making known the opera with people who would not have gone there spontaneously. It disturbed much the purists of the classical music, opposed to the Vulgarisation, who compared it with Richard Clayderman, Thierry Mutin or Rondo Veneziano, sails very about it at the same time. Popular in the years 1980, Kimera was made known in the whole world, but it is especially in Spain, its host country, that its success was established. But after the removal of her daughter, it rarefied its appearances little by little and finally stopped its international career, being devoted only to official receptions of charity.

In 2007, at the request of its former fans, it creates an Internet site where one can redécouvrir his songs, and to listen to the new ones.

A mystical and multicultural singer

Kimera speaks the Korean , the Japanese, the English, the French and the Spanish . She plays of the Piano and the Guitare and acknowledges being fascinated by the Occult sciences like the Astrologie and Radiesthésie; she appealed besides has many occultists at the time of the sequestration of her daughter. Born in a Buddhist family, it became Catholique during its childhood to sing in the churches, then studied the Islam after having lived some time in Saudi Arabia; of these various analyzes, she says herself today very believing, without to belong to a precise institutional religion, even if Christianity seems very present in its repertory. Kimera is Végétarienne and feels reluctant with the idea to kill out of the animals; she declared with journalists that she could not be solved to kill the ants which invaded its bathroom. She is also follower of the Alternative medicine.

After the removal of Melody, it founded the Fondation Melody the purpose of which is to fight the violences made towards the children of the whole world.
