Kimengumi

Kimengumi is a Shōnen manga of Motoei Shinzawa published in the Weekly Shonen Jump between 1980 and 1987.

Titrate original: 3 年奇面組 ( Sannen Kimengumi ) for the college part, ハイスクール! 奇面組 ( Haisukûru! Kimengumi ) for the college part.

The part proceeding with the college was published in French with the editions Tonkam in thirteen volumes.

Adapted in cartoon and diffused in France under the title the insane, insane, insane College .

Short summary of the history

It is the re-entry with the Itchio college. Julie and Laura are always together and find the band of the Merry Mild nutters whose chief names Rei, and the inseparable disciples Ted, Jim, daN and Jeannot. The latter spend their time disturbing the courses (and even outwards) by all kinds of idiocies.

Topicality of Kimengumi

In France

Tonkam had planned to also translate into French volumes of the series Sannen under the name the Mild nutters in Third Year . Unfortunately that was not done, the editor advancing a too low potential of sales.

In Japan

After one long period when the series did not make much any more speak about it, in 2001, the author wanted to make revive his characters through a single album, 帰ってきたハイスクール! 奇面組 ( Kaette kita Haisukûru! Kimengumi ), gathering a new history and exclusive contents such as making-of, interviews, plays and others. The success of this volume made it possible the author to launch out in the realization of a new series always in progress, フラッシュ! 奇面組 ( Furasshu! Kimengumi ), including/understanding new stories being held again with the college and the college. At present, 3 volumes right now left, published by the editor Square Enix.

Derivative products

If they did not reach the French market the derivative products of the series a great success with the country of the Rising sun had. Thus, one could find a play for the console Sega Master System simply named Highschool! Kimengumi , as well as a play for the SIMPLE Playstation 1 named キャラクター 2000 シリーズ: ハイスクール! 奇面組 TEA テーブルホッケー ( SIMPLE Kyarakutaa 2000 Shiriizu: Haisukûru! Kimengumi The Teeburu Hokkee ), putting in scene the characters emblématiques of the manga in a play of hockey of table. There exist also several musical CD of which an album of OST éponyme and two albums of BGM, named 音楽組 ( Ongakugumi ) 1 and 2.
