Kim Deal
Kim Deal , born Kimberly Ann Deal the June 10th 1961 is an American Musicien of Dayton, Ohio.
Deal was Bassiste and singer of the group of Rock Pixies starting from 1986, after having answered an advertisement requiring a bass player influenced by Hüsker Of the and Peter, Paul and Mary. It began under the name of scene “Mrs John Murphy”. Frustrated by the lack of dynamism of the group, it founded The Breeders with Tanya Donelly and Josephine Wiggs. Their first album, Pod , left in 1990.
The Breeders at the head reached the top of their glory in the middle of the Années 1990 by appearing several times classifications of MTV, in particular with “Cannonball” and “Divine Hammer”. In 1994, Kelley Deal, the twin sister of Kim, had to follow a detoxification therapy to fight against its dependence with the Héroïne. The activity of the group thus decreased, but the group never separated officially and left a new album, Title TK in 2002. During this period, Kim formed The Amps, recorded, and occurred in concert. It also carried out albums with other groups, for example with the group of Dayton, Guided by Voices.
In 2004, Kim joined the Pixies which had been just reformed and left with them of turned in all United States between April and May, then in Europe in particular with the Festival Eurockéennes of Belfort.
Before the reformation, Deal had taken part in the writing only of some songs of Pixies (of which “Gigantic”, one the their first most known titles). She nevertheless wrote “Bam Thwok”, the first song with being left after the reformation.
