Kidal

Kidal is a city of the Mali, capital of the 8 {{E}} area, located at 350 km in the north of Gao. It is in the middle of the Adrar of Ifoghas.

For a long time this zone was prohibited, because of presence of a military bagne. Since the end of the Rebellion touarègue in 1995, and the installation of a decentralization, Kidal plays full its role with chief town of area. So Kidal makes very fast great strides, which involves problems of equipment and availabilities of the eau.

History

The first military station was established in Kidal in 1908 by the commander Bertix, then the following year lieutenant Lanceron began the construction of the strong first of Kidal. A second extremely more important will be set up in 1917, and will be increased in 1930. This fort is currently always present.

Kidal was a high place of the Touareg rebellion, associated many feat of arms with the beginning of the year 1990. With the agreement of the parts concerned a mediation was organized by the Algérie, mediation which led to the agreements of Algiers.
